I am a third grade teacher at Conway Elementary School and am writing with regard to the program, Learning for Life. As a teacher of students with many backgrounds and varying abilities I find this program to be quite helpful and use it on a weekly basis. I particularly appreciate the lessons focused on self-esteem, trust, and responsibility.

In today's society children often are not taught the basic skills of respect, responsibility, and citizenship and this job subsequently falls to the elementary school and classroom teacher. I feel that Learning for Life meets this great need by providing appropriate lessons in social skills training through a variety of hands-on experiences, real-world problem solving and creative activities.

The program is well designed and the lessons easy to implement. My students enjoy the lessons, creative activities, and the opportunity to express concerns and/or questions in a supportive environment. I feel that this program is an asset to my students and meets a need in today's elementary schools, and will continue to support this program in my own classroom.
