![]() April 16, 2001 To whom it may concern: This is the second year that our school has used the Learning for Life program. Last year, the program was implemented in the second and fourth grades. This year, all grades are using the program as well as the guidance counselor. The teachers were very responsive to the program. We found the character traits fit into our character education program and gave us wonderful tools to teach the students. The teachers commented that the lesson plans were easy to follow and having the materials provided was a big plus. It is essential in this day and time that children learn that there are absolutes in life. They must be taught right from wrong and that there are consequences for both appropriate and inappropriate behaviors. The parents and students have responded positively to the program. Learning and practicing respect, responsibility, and other traits of good citizenship have had a positive impact on the students at school and at home. This program is one that schools can embrace because of its flexibility and completeness. We are grateful to the Learning for Life group for including us in the Orange County pilot of this program and continued the program with us this year. It is our hope that the program will continue to be funded for the 2001-2002 school year. Sincerely, |
