![]() April 23, 2001 To whom it may concern: Learning for Life has been a useful tool in my fourth grade classroom this year. It has helped me to boost self-esteem and self-confidence along with teaching students values that will help them to make important choices in life. For example, I taught a lesson on Respecting Differences. This lesson was extremely important for my fourth grade students because of a student who entered out classes this year who has Down Syndrome. Showing the students that differences can be positive avoided a lot of difficult situations. The lesson helped to develop positive attitudes in the fourth grade students. I hope that the Learning for Life program continues here in Orange County. I have seen the positive attitudes that have developed in my students because of the program. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Meghan Hilgenfeldt |
